My husband received a free Dessert for Life chip as a gift. As two teachers with a family we can't afford to actually eat dinner there because it so grossly overpriced. But we were excited to go out for a dessert to end one of our date nights. I called ahead of time to see if a reservation was needed and was told there were no openings until 9:30 at night but we could sit at the bar and have dessert (if there was any seating). We showed our chip to the bartender and were told we could only use it with purchase of an entree. We told her that nowhere on the chip did it state that fact. She told us that if they just gave away free desserts they would be out of business (as if we were the idiots...we have no idea how many of these chips they give away or how common or rare they are). We asked to speak to the manager who was just as rude when we tried to explain that coupons have to have their terms printed on them by law and you cannot just make terms on the spot. There was no apology for the confusion or attempt to right the wrong. Thanks for ruining our date night (although I doubt you care)! If they would have said sorry and offered us a one time dessert we would have been understanding. I hope the couple we gifted the chip to enjoy it because we will never set foot into Durant's again!
