| - I recently had the opportunity to stay a long weekend at the Four Seasons in Toronto. My experience was typical of previous stays I've had at their other properties.......excellent. There is an Asian influence with the design of the lobby and hotel. The concierge actually told us that they used the Hong Kong property as sort of a model for the new property in Toronto.
The room was a little different than the other properties I've stayed at. The style was contemporary, and very zen-like. It was beautifully designed with hardwood floors. I traditionally have never slept well on Four Seasons beds (or would wake up with low back pain), which have always been way too plush for my personal preference. Wow, the bed at the Toronto property was heaven- like for me (firm and supportive), and I slept like a baby for all three nights. I'm assuming this bed was one of the new Simmons mattresses being put into rooms system wide? The bathroom, like other Four Seasons, was huge. Toiletries were from Etro and were acceptable as they weren't too overly fragrant.
Definitely plan on visiting the pool and taking advantage of the beautiful spa facilities. As well, the property houses a large gym for hotel standards with new equipment. If running outside is more of your thing, the concierge has running maps. We opted to run the "longer" route, and it took us through a really nice route through the neighborhoods just north of Yorkville.
The location of the property is excellent. You're pretty much a little off the hustle and bustle of the city; however, you're within walking distance or an Uber ride away from all the attractions and restaurants the city has to offer. There is a Daniel Bolud restaurant on site, but take advantage of the great dining options the city has to offer outside of the hotel.
Service, as a whole, was excellent. The only thing that was missing was that we were never offered assistance with our luggage during check-in. Pretty much all the employees we came into contact with were friendly and always said hello. Wifi was complimentary. One gripe that I have with Four Seasons hotels, in general, is the poor quality of basic internet access, and the Toronto property was no different. However, it's just a minor thing because I could had always upgraded the service for a nominal cost. All in all, this was definitely a memorable stay, and I look forward to our next trip to the FS Toronto!
