Yesterday I took my mom and dad to The Ostrich for my moms bday. We usually love this place and have never had any issues with the staff...until now. We got seated and initially got our drinks ok. My dad asked about a beer and they didn't have and then asked what IPA beers they had. The waitress told him about 2 of them they had and he ordered one of them. When she brought the drinks out the beer was THE WORST. My dad hated it, I tasted it to see and before I even got it to my mouth it smelled foul. The taste was terrible. When the waitress finally came back over none of the beer had been drank and when she asked how it was he said nicely that he didn't care for it. She asked if he wanted to switch for something else. She gave him a small taste of the second IPA she said they had (which she never offered for the first one) and it was also awful so he ordered a different drink. Everything seemed to be fine aside from the fact we had to chase our waitress down when our drinks were bone dry to try and get another. Then we got the check and on the bill was the beer that the waitress asked if we wanted and did switch to another drink. I went to find her AGAIN and mentioned to her that she forgot to take it off and she looked at me dumbfounded and said "oh you have to speak to a manager to get that taken off, I can't do that for you". I asked why she didn't already do this or send a manager over or whatever needed to be done and she just looked more confused as if she though we were going to pay for something that was an obvious return. So she went to get this so called manager to get it taken off. Now I have worked as a bartender waitress and customer service for nearly my entire life and NEVER had such a terrible experience by a person that was supposed to be in charge at a restaurant/bar in my 40 years of life. The manager came over with an obvious attitude and said "what's the problem" I told him the situation and what he decided to come back with was "that's the greatest beer ever". Not sorry for the bad service not anything even remotely close to customer service. I told him please just take the beer off so we can pay and leave and he kept arguing about how he didn't HAVE to take the beer off that maybe he won't and proceeded to say that he was doing a favor because we ordered the beer. I waited till today to write this review because he was such a jerk that I wanted to make sure I was calm and give all the details. My moms bday was ruined and I will tell everyone I come into contact with about my horrible experience here. I usually recommend this place because I love the atmosphere and the drinks are good but there is no way I would frequent an establishment that thinks the "manager" MORGAN BURGESS should berate a customer and argue about $8.
