| - I was really excited to try out this place's zumba class because my friend said that they have really awesome zumba classes, but 24 hours fitness made the process so horrible! The workers in customer services in the front were poorly trained ,in my opinion, and disrespectful. My friend who has been a member of the gym got me a 3 day pass and sent it to me by email. When I got there, the lady asked if I have been here before, I said," yes, about 1.5 years ago." Then right away, she said the pass is only for "first timers". I was shocked and said that the pass says as long as you haven't come for 6 months, you are still allowed to come and I added that I barely remember the gym. She said, " you can sign up." I thought that made no sense to sign up for a gym if they won't even let me try their current zumba class which would be the only reason I would join the gym compared to 1.5 years ago. And even though I said 1.5 years, the truth was it was probably 3 years ago and I only went a couple of times to try out their equipment! Either way, they would not abide by their own print.I let my friend know, and I was thinking to myself, I don't want to work out anyways. The usual, lol.
My friend refused me to leave. She then went up to them, and long story short, they were inflexible and instead asked questions that was putting down her intelligence. For example, my friend said how she wanted to show Kathy, one of the Zumba instructors to me and try out her class. Then they said that she quit two weeks ago and asked her when was the last time my friend has been to the gym. Wow. That's wrong! When my friend asked for the manager, the girl said call the 800 number. Wow! She finally got a recruiter to talk to my friend, and this is after 15 minutes after the class has started. She then made my friend explain herself again and put down her intelligence too about not knowing that Kathy is no longer with them for 2 weeks now and even asked her, " what does Kathy look like?". Seriously? In the end, after doing paper work and more talks. Even I, who does not like drama, finally actually said something, " I am 27, and have only been to this gym probably 2 times and that was about 3 years ago. I am not one of those people like you said who signs up all the time and uses your gym, that's obvious. My friend here simply doesn't want to work out alone. Can you please abide by your own print so my friends can try to give me a good time so I would even consider joining your gym so I can be her gym partner?" The lady then offered to let us in today for a day pass, which defeated the purpose since the class was almost over. We asked for next Thursday so I can experience a full class, and she said we would just have to talk to her and she will. Honestly, even though I asked for that for my friends sake, I would never join this gym. The process was just unprofessional and seeing how they treated my friend who has been with them for a year, I could not withstand bad customer service like that.
This is me just being honest Jen. Telling how it went. I will say though, the zumba dance instructor was great.... even if it wasn't Kathy who left. As for gym customer service, no thanks. We are both going to consider LA fitness, who hopefully has better service. :)
