| - I could give this hotel minus-5 stars it was such a bad experience. As a Pennsylvania native and Hilton Honors member, I thought it would be great to stay at the Tropicana Las Vegas for personal business. Check-in was Saturday, February 11 and check out was Monday, February 13. My stay was totally unsatisfactory and I expect more not only from a Hilton property, but Penn National Gaming. At this point, I am embarrassed to be from Pennsylvania. Here's everything that is wrong with the Tropicana Las Vegas:
* Room noise was completely unsatisfactory and ruined the trip. The windows were cheap and thin. I heard EVERYTHING that was going on twelve floors below in the street. Ambulance sirens, police cars, fire trucks, horns honking, just about everything. There was an apartment fire a few blocks from the hotel, and the noise was ridiculous. The windows need replacing.
* Room amenities were unsatisfactory, especially for what you call a small suite. No coffee makers, no refrigerators, nothing. Oh, and by the way, a large room is not a suite. Give me a break.
* The room I booked was sold out upon arrival at about 9pm. I discovered later that registration was allowing check-ins at all hours of the day. Hilton Honors members never should have their reserved rooms given to non-members.
* The Hilton Honors check in line was staffed with one person, so I went through the line easier for non-members. This is unsatisfactory. To make things worse, the associate didn't even look up at me until telling me the room was sold out. After a five hour drive, I could have used some chilled bottled water; but this property gives out warm cookies. By the way, there were no more cookies available, so I got coupons. Laughable.
* The Hilton Honors check-out line was not staffed the morning I left. So again, I went through the non-members line. The associate who did the check-out did not ask how my stay was. This is also unsatisfactory.
* The desk and chairs were completely unsatisfactory. I was looking forward to getting some work done in the room but there are lounge chairs under the desk and not an office chair. This is absolutely intolerable. Get at least one office chair in each room.
* Housekeeping thinks it's summer year round in Las Vegas. My room was a balmy 66 degrees with windy, rainy weather in the high 50s outside. They love blasting the fan on high as well. Kind of makes me wonder if your housekeepers come from Florida or something.
* I want to know what the hell I am paying for with the "resort fee." What resort? The stupid Beach Club? I didn't have a beach bungalow. There are no amenities that come with a resort fee. It's obvious guests are paying for the Raiders football stadium.
Next time I will go Air B&B. No resort fees.
