Unfortunately I have not had a good experience with AutoZone on the last three of four occasions.
The last episode was ordering a crankshaft position sensor for my 2005 Infinity G35. Not in stock ...so they find one at another store. They say they will call the next day when the part arrives. No call , so I find the part across town and take one hour out of my day.
I remove the old sensor and go to install the new one only to find it looks similar but the tab to fasten the sensor is rotated 90 deg. The car disassembled I go on my motorcycle to the store. The database is incorrect. They gave me the correct part per the database, but it wrong. All they can do is give me a refund. I ask them to get the database fixed for the next customer, but they have no interest.
In summary three trips to the store over three days and what do I have...nothing. There incompetence inconvenience s me but they don't care.
Other issues included a battery that lasted 100 days but only had a 90 day warranty. Not fit for the purpose intended
I conclude it's easier to buy the parts on Amazon. These box stores need to step up their game. If they inconvenience customers thru there own error they should have found the right part and given me it for a discount or nothing , because my time is of some value.
In summary not recommended.
Update..I went on Amazon. Crankshaft sensor was $13, price at AutoZone was $44 dollars for cheap part...$75 for OEM. Lesson learned go to Amazon. I ordered two. One spare for the second bank if necessary. Comes to my door in two days. No wasted gas and no stress.
