In a dodgy neighborhood. Food is good, but overpriced. Started with Buckwheat biscuits with a sweet butter. Who wants sweet first?? Biscuits were good- but too sweet on the butter.
Everything is A la carte. So, if you order sand dabs for 17.00 (overpriced) you have to add another 9.00 to get a side of green beans (which were tasty, but not worth close to 9.00!). We were at a table of five and they added a 20% tip on our tab which was printed in teeny tiny print. I have no idea how my husband even noticed. I was about to add another 20%! The waitress didn't really seem to acknowledge it much when we brought it to her attention. Almost like it's happened before. CHECK YOUR BILL! This soured my opinion of them for sure.
Dinner was good, but I think for how crowded it was (tables too close to each other) and the small portions/high prices, we likely wouldn't go back. I think we'd opt for The Tuck Shop in this price range. On a side note, a lot of meat. They need more vegetarian options. I'm not sure what a vegan would eat here. No entrees options- they'd have to order sides.
Not really all that impressed. Sad about that. :-( We really wanted to love it.
