| - ok, wow! First off, super friendly! I called to confirm that they had a little bit of a variety of the baby cakes (adorable square cupcakes) for us to pick up for a family birthday. Very friendly phone etiquette .
We stopped in at about 5:45, and we were picking up a half dozen baby cakes to take home. The woman explained that it's all made in house, and about the variety and cake pops and whole cakes, etc.
They have a coffee menu and some drinks as well as some seating options, so I'm sure a bit of an after lunch treat with some coffee would be awesome.
We chose sun kissed (amazing citrus flavor, and the favorite in our group!), chocolate, vanilla bean, salted caramel mocha (YUM!!) and strawberries and cream. We ended up splitting each one into 4 so we could try some variety. Lots of happy sounds from everyone.
Stuff I liked: The frosting didn't do that whole "coating the mouth" thing you get with many cupcake shops. The cake withstood the frosting, unlike the light and crumbly cupcakes at those same cupcake shops.
I've had cupcakes all over, even Magnolia in NYC and these beat them, no question.
So for the 6 baby cakes and a cake pop (for the odd 6 year old who doesn't like cupcakes) it was around $23. So, pretty average for a specialty cake/cupcake shop.
Plus, it's super convenient on Val Vista and Williams Field. Great for a treat after Pita Jungle or Harvey American or Blue 32.
Something I noted: We didn't get a regular cake this time but they looked fantastic and they sure have some talent!
