I think the other reviews have pretty much summed up my thoughts about Magnolia, but I thought I would throw in my two cents anyway.
This place is beyond visually pleasing and beautifully designed. Looking in, it appears to be one of those places you wish you could buy all your groceries from, if money were no object. Almost like a tiny Whole Foods...but in reality it kind of comes up short.
The selection of things is pretty weak, but they do offer some cool organic finds that you may not come across in nearby Kensington or Metro further down on College. For these types of "treats" (I got some fair trade organic chocolate bars), I think Magnolia is ideal....but in terms of picking up necessities, it really isn't worth it.
I came here when I was sick and too delirious to venture further than a few feet from home and had to dish out 6.50 for a carton of tropicana orange juice. I was hoping for some fresh squeezed or at least fancier looking options at that price. Everything else was just too overpriced for me to justify buying it, so I left with my orange juice and chocolate.
So if you're passing by and just want to do some quick browsing, Magnolia is definitely worth a try! But don't come in expecting to pick up food for the week.
