| - I was searching frantically for a hotel that also accepted pets due to a blackout from the ice storm, and ended up staying here. The bellhop came out immediately to help assist us with our luggage despite freezing temperatures and the fact that we arrived at 5am, and check-in was fast and easy with a friendly front desk agent.
I wasn't expecting anything fancy with such a last-minute reservation and our room was facing the courtyard and not Bloor St., but it was very spacious and well-appointed.
Furnishings are decent and the decor, although not the newest, is still tasteful. Bed and linens were comfortable; the couches in the living area were nice as well and our dog enjoyed making a bed out of one of the armchairs.
The bathroom was fine as well, although the bathtub could have been larger/more comfortable. Amenity kits were a bit sparse - no toothbrush, toothpaste, lotions, etc. but included comb, sewing kit, makeup remover, shoe brush, and wipes. The slippers provided were on the small side, and the towels and bathrobes could use some fabric softener as well.
Wi-fi is not free ($10 per day) but is decently fast - I was able to watch Netflix shows without a problem.
All the hotel staff were excellent and friendly, and dealt with our requests efficiently.
Location is excellent - close to the TTC, the ROM, and shopping on Bloor St. We ended up doing some last-minute Christmas shopping along Bloor St. while staying here, and there's also a Whole Foods nearby to stock up on snacks.
Seeing that I actually live in Toronto, it's pretty rare for me to be looking for a hotel in town but should the need ever arise, I would definitely stay here again.
