Meh. Picked up some cupcakes for a birthday on Saturday...traditional vanilla, red velvet, salted caramel. The only one worth eating was the red velvet, which was made by Tizzerts, the other two were Suarez creations.
The Tizzerts red velvet cake was ok, which is the only reason this review got more than one star. The cream cheese frosting on it was flavorful but had a strange, gummy consistency.
The vanilla and salted caramel both went in the trash after one bite. The buttercream used on and in these was just that...it tasted like straight up, non-sugared butter and left a gross coating on the inside of your mouth. They need to cut down on the shortening in that mess or something. The cake in both were quite dry. The caramel tasted like it came out of a store-bought squeezebottle. I've never had cupcakes so bad.
