It always amazes me how business put policies in place that are designed to do nothing but screw over the customers who are in fact keeping them in business.
Purchased 2 tickets online which included the ticket price and another almost $3 bucks in convenience fees, somewhat annoying but whatever. The second I hit the purchase button I realized I had purchased tickets for tonight's show and not tomorrow's show like I intended. Yes my fault and here is where the fun starts.
Changing the tickets to the next day's show was like trying to crack the atom with these people.
It took 4 phone calls and 45 minutes. In the end they couldn't just move the tickets to the next day. Apparently the manager at the AMC location is able to do this but after 2 phone calls and being on hold close to 15 minutes I gave up on that option. The manager was just to busy to come to the phone doing all those extremely time consuming things a theater manager has to do.
After calling back the main AMC number I was told I would have to have my tickets refunded and then purchase them again - BUT- they have a strict policy of not refunding the connivence fee and then I would have to pay another fee to repurchase. It was really a ridiculous conversation with these people. If I wasn't meeting people at this location who already had their tickets I would have just gone to a regal theater- either way I will do my best never step foot in another AMC again.
Were the convenience fees a ton of money- no, but it's the point that they would refuse to refund them and then charge me the same fees over again. Just ridiculous customer service.
