I am not surprised to see a rather low rating for this location. I did not find the staff to be rude, just understaffed and overwhelmed. Of course, a smile and a thank you will go far with a customer who has just waited in line for twenty minutes to reach the register.
The other part of understaffing is that no one dares to venture out from behind the counter to take care of niceties such as refilling the cream, wiping tables, or attending to the rest rooms, all of which are important for the customer`s experience.
Given its location in the Birkdale community, I am surprised that the community association hasn't addressed having a slipshod Starbucks as its prime coffee cafe. Perhaps some competition would wake up the management.
There was an art festival this weekend, literally in Starbucks' front yard. This store had a line which often stretched out the door. Clearly the management did not prepare for this; the store was out of bagels by 10 am on Sunday morning. All this extra revenue, and nothing but a lousy experience for your customers.
