We ate here twice during our stay at the Biltmore. Breakfast is probably the best thing they do. Our breakfast was wonderful. I had a sort of southwest inspired Benedict (without the ham) and the corn 'cake' underneath was to die for and laced with chilis. We were given a large pot of decaf which was wonderfully brewed. Our roasted breakfast potatoes were actually "roasted to perfection." (It's funny how so many menus will say something is prepared "to perfection" and how little it's actually true, but it was true here and they didn't actually say it on the menu.)
We also enjoyed our server who was entertaining, friendly and accommodating.
Switch over to evening and our 2nd meal at F&A's - dinner. The food was decent but not spectacular. I'm pretty sure the Ceasar salad had MSG in the dressing because I only had two bites of my boyfriend's salad and within a few minutes I was well into an MSG reaction. So, docking a star for that. The roasted winter vegetables were sublime. I'd never really enjoyed parsnips before, but these ones rocked.
If you don't feel like leaving "campus" Frank & Albert's will do you right. (Just watch out for the MSG.)
