We just love hiking through the beautiful trees and the sounds of the aspen leaves in the wind. We moved here from Montana so Mount Charleston is a little piece of home we like to visit often.
Cathedral Rock is one of our favorite trails on the mountain. Its cool and shaded with the trees along the trail. The sound of the wind going through the aspen leaves is very relaxing and peaceful. Its a tough trail in areas if you haven't hiked in a while so pace yourself. Take breaks to catch your breath and remember to bring lots of water. But the view from the top is totally worth it.
I have to say my favorite time to hike this trail is in the fall when all of the aspen change to a beautiful orange and golden yellow. The whole valley is speckled with those colors and it is absolutely breathtaking.
