| - Decent food. Music is WAY TOO LOUD. Horrible service. The gimmick isn't worth the time. Go someplace else.
First, as we pulled into the parking lot, there were lots of cop cars and an ambulance. Apparently someone tried breaking in the back with a butcher knife and attacked the cooks. Not a nice neighborhood. The mob and gangster theme can only go so far before the violence is real.
Next, we made a reservation here because we cancelled one at Herbs and Rye (amazing place) so we could take some friends to Capo's because it has a reputation of a cute fun place. Wrong. We ordered a round of drinks, ordered all of our food and an appetizer. Got the drinks, got the appetizer, then 15-20 minutes later without seeing our server with no refills on drinks and table cleared, we still hadn't gotten our salads. Two tables came and sat during our appetizer that now had their salads and meals. I spoke to the manager who blamed the kitchen issue, even though the server never came to check on us or refill drinks.
They brought us a "round on the house" and said our meals (now at almost an hour late), were next. That was a lie. Salads and second round of drinks were gone, a third table that came in after us received their entrees, and we were still sitting there. The manager came over and said he was comping the meal. Fine, we will wait for the entrees at this point, (one hour and 20 minutes).
Entrees arrived. Food was good, which is a shame that the service was so horrible. Risotto was great, all dishes were flavorful and good portion, but overpriced.
The bill arrived, and they just gave a small discount. Not comped. I told the server that the manager told us it was being comped. Manager came back over and said we misunderstood him, that "comped" was only a portion, not actually comped. So we ended up paying for that "round of drinks on the house" along with food that was clearly forgotten.
The thing this server and manager didn't know is that not only was our table of 4 all experienced restaurant workers, a manager, and a chef, but making the excuse of the "hood system" going down in the kitchen when 3 other tables got the entrees and were almost done by the time we got ours is just a disrespectful lie instead of just saying the server forgot to put our order in. At least honesty would be respectful. A full comp should have been the least they could have done with this debacle, but to lie and make excuses? Uncalled for.
