Finally- a great craft coffee option for those of us living in the North Hills. The owner is a great guy with a real passion for roasting coffee. He selectively sources what he is bringing in to the shop, and usually only picks very fine single origin beans from Ethiopia, Honduras, and Colombia. I no longer live in Pennsylvania but I wish this place had opened up earlier! Granted, when I'm home, I now tend to buy my whole beans for home grinding from Convive- love their product and love local business.
My one gripe is that the baristas usually seem uninspired and brew a so-so cup of coffee. With great product, it's a shame to see it going to waste with substandard methods of brewing. The pour over and siphons alike are never really used to their full potential. I guess the staff isn't particularly trained to brew pour over and are real just eyeballing everything.
Still worth a visit or two though. Great location. Nice decor and good atmosphere. Super friendly owner.
