The museum and our guide ---- awesome 5 stars !!! Recommend the day (see more) or night (a few neons are refurbished) tour == early dusk would prob be perfect.
The ticketing agent, and front desk crew neg 2. I've never meet such an unwelcoming and unfriendly crew running a museum. Our group was on time (15 mins before the tour started), everyone had IDs and tickets in hand. We lined up and started to go through the check in process --- but i'm not sure if the computer failed or our group overwhelmed her --- but rude and nasty to everyone (7) for no apparent reason.
A husband, wife and baby (in stroller) were late for another tour so they added them to our group. Kids screamed it head off for the whole thing. We could barely hear the docent. This is not for kids who are still running around, pulling, touching, etc. There is A LOT of sharp glass.
You must stay in the group. One guy too a few steps back to take a picture of us on the tour and the docent immediately chased him and herded him back into the cattle herd.
Best part. The folklore tails of the lights, the owners and some sorted legends of why the sign were made in a certain style.
