| - I would not recommend renting here. My apartment is beautiful, but there are many problems. The building manager, Deb, is wonderful and very kind. I do like the size of the apartment, but it definitely isn't worth the expense. The building is half empty, and for good reason.
First, the electric bills are astronomical. I have a 1 bedroom apartment and my bills are always at least $200. This is absolutely ridiculous. My boyfriend lives in another very similar building less than a mile away in an apartment bigger than mine, and his bills are only $60. Management first told us that we would be compensated, but then changed their minds with no explanation.
Second, the walls are very thin. I live next to the stairs, and I can hear every single person who walks up or down.
Third, there is HORRIBLE cell phone service. I have Verizon and my work phone is AT&T. Neither works at all. I lose every single call. It is miserable.
Fourth, the dryer takes forever. I asked for maintenance many times, but have been told that my dryer is fine and it is just the way the dryers in this building are. It takes 4 hours to dry a single load of clothes. No exaggeration whatsoever.
There is nothing extremely positive to mitigate the significant concerns. I am not planning on renewing my lease, and every other person that i have spoken with isn't planning on doing so either. There are too many other, similarly priced apartments nearby with even more amenities nearby to stay here with the bills so high.
