Great BLT. So-so, perfunctory service. Hadn't been here before so when I walked in I stood at what I learned is their to-go counter for a good solid 90 seconds before anyone acknowledged me. There were six people behind the counter, & not one gave me eye contact or a simple hello. SIX. Not a good first impression. Once I was told to go ahead & take a seat a young lady dropped off a menu & silverware rollup. She said nothing, did not offer water or tell me my server would be right with me. I realize this is a very casual place but still, when guests are tipping for service it should be welcoming & attentive at the very least.
Food is pretty much what I expected. BLT was great--nice & big, delicious bacon (good thing since this is what they're supposed to be known for!). I added avocado which was fresh and tasty. Fruit salad was the generic pineapple, underripe honeydew, grape combo... but even at The Phoenician the fruit is this way!
Overall, good food, but after tax I wouldn't come & spend $11+ on a BLT (and that's without the avocado). Decent atmosphere, despite the bright yellow & green walls and very harsh fluorescent lighting. Very cute patio.
