We were set on Coca but the line was too long. We saw the open sign here and decided to give it a try. After a few bites, we were glad Coca had been too full.
We had the falafel sandwich ($6), grilled veggie sandwich ($6), zucchini soup ($3.50) and some dolmas ($2). The dolmas we just grabbed out of the fridge and were not too exciting, but if you find most dolmas too slimy you'll like that these are dry. Also quite small and high ratio of leave to contents. Then the soup came out and was delicious. Simple balanced flavors.
But the sandwiches are why I'm taking the time to write a review. The pita was thick and spongy. The falafel was the lightest and fluffiest I've ever had. They mash it in the sandwich so it's shaped more like a panini than the Noah's ark style that I usually see. I don't go for simple grilled veggies often, but that sandwich was also great. Not too oily, not too stiff. Finally, the side salad included was so good it would stand on its own. The vegetables were fresh, the olives were as large as the tomatoes and nearly as juicy.
Highly recommended.
