| - I'm done trying to come here to give this hellhole another chance. "Oh, it's cleaned up sooooo much, it's nice and fun now!" HUH? It's depressing with all of the schlubby tourists shuffling around in their wifebeaters, wasted off of cheap beer, red-faced from too much sun. It's a low-brow version of what Vegas has become.
Listen, I love history, I love the story of how Vegas became "Vegas" but the class and elegance that "used" to be down here back in the mob days is now, and will be, on the actual strip. Golden Nugget tries, as do some other new 'gentrified' casinos down here... but it's just lipstick on a pig with the clientele that comes here.
What shocks me, as a parent, is how many kids are down here with their parents. Maybe they're here because they hear how "nice" it is now... but it's NOT good for kids here. Kids in strollers are pushing around at the same height as everyone holding cigarettes, more than the strip... so please, as a parent, do NOT take your kids here. Take them to the waterparks or the Adventure Dome at Circus Circus.
