We went to Prosecco on Friday night for dinner. Having heard what a great restaurant it was we were eager to try it. Friends had told us the food was great, the service was great and what a great host the owner was. We were excited. True the food was good, the service was good. Our waiter Joaquin was terrific. However, the owner, Guiseppe, was a great disappointment. As we sat there I watched him go to every single table, sometimes twice, spoke to the guests and even sat down at some of the tables to talk and ask how everything was. We sat there for a good 90 minutes and never once did he come to our table to see how the food or the service was. He did visit the table next to us twice. Our bill was over $100 so it wasn't as though we were just there taking up space and not ordering. I was insulted. My husband stopped to talk to him as we were leaving and told him that the food was great but that we had noticed he did not stop at our table and he had gone to all the others, he lied and said he "was putting out fires." We had watched him for over an hour as he visited each table. We paid and left. Never to go back again. You only get one chance to make a first impression!
