I host a few arts & culture events a year and wanted to try the Tranzac Club because of their accessible washrooms. The team at Tranzac are really difficult to work with. At first I was told to email the events address. I didn't receive a response, so after waiting a couple weeks I called again, and was given the phone number for the events manager and booked with him over the phone. He couldn't guarantee a set number of chairs or tables, describing it as basically a free-for-all among the event rooms. He also explained that I'd have to show up no later than 6pm and than basically sticking around for hours before the event started to ensure no one took my set-up. The staff are also not on hand or available to provide any help for setting up the sound system if needed. I was in such a panic to book a cheap, accessible venue, I just went ahead and booked.
I tried following up closer to the event to ask a question about the venue, both by texting the events manager (as he requested I do) and by emailing. That was weeks ago, and its safe to say that a response isn't coming.
I've hosted events at other equally priced venues that were absolutely fantastic to work with, but unfortunately not as accessible.
