Want to talk about how the Uptown skyline can look pretty beefy and more formidable than you had previously experienced? Stand on the grass at Romare Bearden and you'll see. Easily one of the most gorgeous views of Uptown and from easily the prettiest green space within a square mile.
I finally got around to visiting the park whilst on a segway tour with colleagues and I'm astounded with the execution of the plan for this park. It's perfect. You name it and you can do it at this park -- just like at Freedom, Renaissance, etc. Frisbee, walk the dog, lay out, picnic, tailgate, whatever. Throw in the fact that you're surrounded by our delightfully clean city and you'll get thrown back into the reality of being in the center of town. Pretty crazy to have such a beautiful setting in the busiest part of the QC.
Also, I love the attention to detail on all of the flora and other plant life chosen for the park. It's not just your run-of-the-mill patch of boring flowers and a few trees held up by supports. Negative. Therein lies a phenomenal collection of NC vegetation. It all fits like a brilliant puzzle.
What a wonderful place to explore and enjoy. So thankful for this park and I can't wait to revisit.
