Fabricland is a staple. It is huge. I often feel overwhelmed when I am there even though they do group fabrics well. They do NOT have silks at this location, but they do have sewing machine weight Guterman silk thread (which is not my favorite). This is an everyday fabric store for 95% of your sewing needs.
Most of their crinoline and tulle netting is hidden under the cutting counter or up high on the wall behind it
Great selection of novelty fabrics for pajamas and children --- including popular characters.
I don't care for most of the staff which are overstretched and aloof, but there is a mature woman who seems to work in the bridal fabric area (not upholstery area) who is FABULOUS. She can answer most of your questions from zippers, to thread, to fabric linings, etc. It is hard to flag someone down to pay, so give yourself some extra time.
The left side of the store tends to be for upholstery. They even sell lots of pillow cases.
They have some of accessories like shoulder pads and even an adjustable mannequin for fitting.
It basically across from Yorkdale Mall on Dufferin, but just a door or two south. Lots of free parking right next to it.
