We took our 8 year old son here and it exceeded everyone's expectations! We really know nothing about NASCAR, our son just likes race cars in general. My husband and I and our son each had a really fun time and we're really amazed at what we learned and what we saw here.
If you follow the directions on the website for parking it is super easy to find. Every employee at the Museum is friendly and kind. Every inch of the museum is clean and orderly.
What is such a pleasant surprise are all the interactive exhibits--including a racecar simulator, revving an actual racing engine, to pretending to be on a pit crew by jacking up a car, filling it with gas, and taking off a wheel and putting one on using the high powered wrench thing. There are four floors full of information and history and paraphernalia and vehicles, there is enough to satisfy everyone. The visual exhibits are phenomenal as are the videos and information about the sport.
The information is so extensive, reaching the precise details and science behind the sport. If you're not that interested in those details just to skim all of the exhibits is very interesting and fun. It is a gorgeous facility inside and out and they really create a positive fun experience. Well worth the money. BTW we received a AAA discount off the price of the tickets and received one race simulator per AAA card.
