This store seems like a Canadian attempt at a Kmart, but it's somehow worse than Kmart (which puts it well below Walmart and Target). I bought a bike pump here that not only sucked, but actually broke my bicycle tube and COST me $5. Then when I returned the broken pump they deducted the "tire money" or whatever from my refund. I think it was twenty-five cents or something but what kind of crazy bullshit system is that? It took me three visits to return the pump because the first time they had closed before I got there (they close early on weekends (when people are actually shopping) because they are apparently stupid) and the second time they didn't have an associate available who could perform that action. Ridiculous...and hence the ridicule I am now laying on them.
I also needed to buy some hangers and a toaster oven. They only offer one toaster oven that was not complete crap and it was sold out...and the prices were higher than other stores on these items. The only plastic hangers they had were so crappy that the $7/10 hangers I bought at Walmart last year seem like premium editions. The CT ones actually were sharp at the plastic "seam" all the way around. Sharp hangers? Seriously?
And we won't go into the parking disaster (cost me $3 just to find out that the store was closed because the hours aren't posted in the parking entrance - and $6 to return it on Sunday). Overall my experience with Canadian Tire is that it cost me $18 and all it left me with was complaints and a need to go somewhere else for my bike pump, hangers, and toaster oven.
