Our water heater stopped working right in the middle of the coldest month, so that means cold showers. We tried to replace the heating elements ourselves and although it helped a little, the hot water was still only lasting 5 minutes. A couple of days later, I noticed that the flooring in our guest bathroom was rather warm. When i went out to the garage, the concrete was also warm and I heard a weird gurgling. Later that night, I spotted where the gurgling was coming from...the wall behind the water heater!
I immediately went to Facebook looking for a referral. A friend recommended Sterling Services. I called first thing in the morning, and they had someone out within an hour....and that wasn't an emergency appointment. Michael was the person who came out and he was very nice and professional. We discussed different scenarios in finding the leak and there was discussion of maybe having to have a leak locating service come out, but I think that we both decided the first step would be to cut into the area of the wall that was leaking and for him to see if he could tell exactly where it was leaking from. We rescheduled another appt for another day since it was going to take a very long time to fix.
Michael found where the leak was coming from (under the slab) and told us that the best way to fix it would be to cap it off on each end from under the slab and to go up over the bathroom (into attic) and back down into water heater, and that is exactly what he did. They did have to cut a few holes into the wall to find the main hot water line, but for the most part they did a clean job of cutting and the dry wall is very fixable...much easier to fix than jackhammering out tile and concrete.
We are very happy with Sterling Services. Highly recommend for plumbing service.
