  • This place is amazing and exactly how the owners describe. I have been to Oahu and Kailua many times, and this snow cone takes me back to the little place near the cabin I use to bike to for shaved ice. Happy Honu's flavors are amazing. They offer Asian flavors such as Tigers Blood, Lychee, P.O.G, Haupia, and Liliko'i. Li-Hing- Mui powder, vanilla ic cream, red bean, mochi, and condensed milk can be added to your shaved ice. The proportions are excellent for the price and delicious. Can't get any better than here. Their Lychee flavor was the absolute best I have every tried, and that's my favorite flavor. Turns out that lychee is Alley's favorite flavor as well. Both days she dug into the lychee side leaving me begging for a bite. Well enough about how awesomely, yummy, flavorful their product is...the owners and their staff is so friendly, down to earth and attentive. While deciding on my third flavor, Alley spoke up, the owner laughed and said she was picking the last flavor, P.O.G. He joked with alley and I as our shaved ice was being made. When we got our savory treat.....heaven. We walked back to thank him and show him the pictures of Alley eating the shaved ice. He took time to talk to Alley and thanked us for complimenting his product. The Chinese New Year Festival may have been a complete bust but finding this gem makes it all worth it. We will be at every event he is scheduled to be at. Alley even agrees to wear the company T shirt for marketing purposes. Give them a try, they are worth every penny!
