This salon is one that I have so many mixed feelings about. The outcome of my hair when I left the salon was always pretty good! The problem was the experience throughout the appointments and the damage I realized once I changed to a new salon.
They are located on Mill Ave which means parking is not easy. I paid a parking meter for 2 hours because I've never had a partial highlight exceed that amount of time. However, two of the times I came here my appointed lasted way longer than expected and one time it led me to getting a $25 parking ticket. The fact a partial highlight would take 2.5 hours is insane. The reason is another big factor as to why I hated the experience. They would book two people at a time, so I was never the sole focus and instead forced to wait and process for 30min - hour while she did another person's hair. After getting my hair highlighted/dyed for close to 8 years, I know that it doesn't take an hour for highlights to finish processing, and if they would book one person at a time I would have been out of the salon much quicker.
The lady doing my hair would always brag about how fast she can do highlights. I never said anything but I'm sure she can only do them that fast because she never gets close enough to the roots. I would leave looking like my hair was already growing out.
The salon building is fantastic! I love the downstairs and upstairs, and I love Aveda products. The front desk staff was always very friendly and helped me find things I needed. Unfortunately I just got tired of having to wait insane amounts of time when I could go to another salon, get the same or better outcome, and have it only take the expected amount of time.
Disclaimer: I am speaking from experience 2-3 times with one hair colorist. I am in no way saying all Juut Salon hairstylist/colorists do hair in the same way. There is a good chance you may get someone amazing.. my color lady was just not right for me.
