  • This office is awful and we will officially be finding another pediatrician for my daughters care. We thoroughly searched for a doctor while expecting our first child. We interviewed with Dr. Garcia and she was great. Took her time, answered all of our questions and was down to earth. On our first visit with baby, I had a long list of questions and she answered everything I needed to know before we even got to "time for questions". It was great. I hated the wait, but she seemed worth it. At that time waiting with a brand new infant for over an hour really upset us. Since then, each and every visit we have had - even when I switched to ONLY scheduling the first of the day at 9am, had us waiting up to 1.5 hours until the doctor saw us!! She would forget she ordered an ultrasound and not go over results the next visit. When I asked about the results the text time she said she'd go get them and never came back! I heard her onto the next patient which ended up resulting in another 30-40 min wait with my tired/cranky baby waiting for her to return! I've had two experiences with calling for advice on the nurse line and this is the most infuriating part. The first time, I called early morning, asking about my daughters congestion and didn't get a return call until early 6pm that night! How are you going to wait until after business hours to return the call?? Baby was only 3 months old!! So 1- you obviously couldn't get me in to see a doctor if an appt was needed, bc you're now closed and 2- if I don't pick up when you call, I'm then screwed or being in contact with you because YOU'RE CLOSED!! I thought that was upsetting, but my next experience is what put me over the edge of never wanting to return. I called Tuesday at 10:30am and left a message asking about redness on my daughters back & arms. I wanted more info on appearance of eczema to know if it was that or another type of reaction. I wait til 6pm thinking they're going to call "by the end of the day" albeit after closing time... and nothing. I wait until 11am the next day, Wednesday and call again this time pressing the option to make an appt so I could speak with someone and expressed my frustration of no call back and asked to get a call from the nurse asap. Of course I could make an appt to just bring her in, but I'm highly avoiding spending 2-2.5 hours of my life there if it is just eczema that easily clears with lotion!! No call back all day after voicing my concerns of no call the prior day. That's it. I'm fine. My baby is only 7 months and I need to have better confidence in the care she is receiving!! We're NOT returning and I'm warning other moms of the huge decline in customer service. As a first time mom it would be nice to walk out of well visits with info on what baby should be doing, what to expect, etc. Dr. Garcia for months now doesn't go over anything that isn't prompted by my asking. Something as big as introducing solids, that you'd want your pediatricians input on and she has them give me a horribly written sheet that says to give apple juice, when it's best to use breast milk/formula/water at this age (4 months old at the time) and she admitted the sheet was outdated and written by an old doctor who no longer works there! Really?! How are you not asked about this on a daily basis as a pediatrician?? To be giving out a sheet that you apparently haven't read yourself in years! I also asked her about baby led weaning in that appt, which is very common now as a method of introducing foods to baby, and she said she had never heard of it. I should have switched doctors then. If she's really never heard of baby led weaning as a pediatrician who runs her own office, she is FAR too uninvolved with keeping updated with recent studies/trends/information in the baby world. If you're a patient here, plan on spending at least 2 hours there, no matter what, and not getting much out of your time investment!!
