| - Ahh, how to describe the Elephant and Castle? It's a British Pub that doesn't feel anything like a British Pub, it's a restaurant that doesn't feel like a restaurant, and it's just plain vanilla boring.
The food is sub-par, and the drinks are expensive, and perhaps the only saving grace is it's a great location for out-of-towners. I find myself listing all the things it's not, it really didn't evoke much of an emotional response, it's fairly forgettable.
I wish they had at least a small selection of actual British beer on tap, there wasn't anything except the standard macrobrews you can get at any corporati-bar.
The building itself is nice, and has some nice architectural elements, but the layout is awkward. It was difficult for them to accommodate 7 of us without us always being in the way of the serving staff.
I had a great time, but it had very little to do with the venue.
