| - I initially came to this salon because it's one of the few places that offers SNS. If you've gotten an SNS manicure before, you know. It's amazing!!! I used to bite my nails to nubs and now I have claws, CLAWS, guys! Great for self-defense. Terrible for everything else in life.
Anyway, I had three SNS manicures here before I called it quits. Every time I tried a different technician and every time something was off. The first manicure I got looked AMAZING and lasted for three weeks. The guy was super meticulous when he shaped my nails, but his toolbox was GROSS. I overlooked it because my nails turned out great and nothing else about the service seemed off.
When I went back a second time, I got paired with a suuuuper nice tech. She made me feel right at home and also did a really great job (aesthetically) on my nails. Unfortunately, the base coat or something she used was either too old or too diluted because I lost three nails within a week of having them done. Not like broke a nail, but the polish came off in one piece like a stick-on nail. I went back to explain the situation and asked them to redo them. They were really defensive and kept asking me questions that would place the blame on me rather than their product. After a bit of back and forth, they set me up with another tech that "had more experience" and she shaped my nails TERRIBLY. She had a habit of over-filing on one side, so my nails all leaned inwards. SO BAD. I had already wasted two hours getting my nails redone so I just wanted to cut my losses and get out of there. Oh, and yes I did get charged for this manicure, adding salt to my wound.
If you wear your nails long, it's just not worth it. Not only would you be wasting ~$50 per manicure, you're also wasting close to 2 hrs of your life for a mediocre job. If you really want to try this place out, I'd recommend making an appt with the owner. She was out of town every time I came so I didn't have the opportunity.
Also - in response to the owner comment. Yes, it was this salon. Note the two check-in's up top. The last two visits happened in the summer when you were away for a month. It's normal that mistakes were made when the owner wasn't there, but the fact that the salon does not want to take accountability for negative feedback is concerning...
