These are some fine doughnuts! I was given a gift card to brewnuts so I did the most responsible thing I could think of and that was to go and try the food within 5 minutes of getting the giftcard (shout out also to the amazing Shoreway Apartments). I ordered a vanilla hops, strawberry margarita, and a chocolate truffle doughnut. They were $3 each and the gift card was for $10 so I decided to try three instead of doing a half dozen for $16 because, truthfully, while they are incredibly tasty -- I cannot bring myself to eating doughnuts as the calories scare Eric, said Eric. However, I arrived around 1pm and most of their choices were still available. I did take the last chocolate truffle though so sorry to anyone else 2-3-18 wanting one. But the place was busy enough and I was happy to be able to try out a local business. The vanilla hops was nothing special in terms of standing out in flavor but nonetheless enjoyable. Plenty of sugar in the coating and it was not overly greasy. The strawberry marg doughnut did not remind me of a marg yet i enjoyed the strawberry frosting and it is on the heavier side and sweeter than I enjoy. The game changer was the chocolate truffle. The chocolate on the outside was on the heavy side and it was a swirl but the employee of grabbed it tried to keep it from getting messed up but loe behold the chocolate and the grab paper became one but then not the same. The inside had a chocolate mousse like filling that was incredible. They limit only one per order of the chocolate truffle and I can see why. I would gladly go back to eat there again, on the pricer side but I would rather support local business than save some money on value-brand doughnuts.
It was moderately crowded and finding parking was not super easy but not awful either.
