  • Although I believe this has closed by now, I visited a couple of weeks before its demise, guided by a local in the know. It's a classic department store lunch counter, with Formica as far as the eye can see. My companion and I enjoyed the Waldorf salad plate with the famous pecan bread, which would have been worth the trip by itself. The meal and the place were a peek into a different era, and I'm a little sad that Pittsburgh has now shut that door.
