| - Not really sure what the big hype over this place is.
Since my friend and I were extremely eager to try Tsujiri for quite some time, we decided to wait in the dreadful line. We had no idea that 2-3 metres out the door would have us waiting AN HOUR AND A HALF to finally get our orders.
I had initially really wanted a sundae, but when we got to the door after waiting for over half an hour, there was a hidden sign in the corner saying "out of sundaes for the day" :| WHAT? Why would they not put this somewhere more visible?!?!? A sundae was the only thing I wanted, so this was frustrating to say the least.
We both ended up ordering floats (Tsujiri and Houjicha Milk) instead. The matcha soft serve ice cream was pretty good, but the drink itself was meh. I added the shiratama (mochi balls?) to my drink, which in my opinion tasted like absolutely nothing. I didn't think that the floats were worth the price at all ($7-8 each for a small), so I obviously would not buy one again. In fact, I barely even drank half of mine before I ended up throwing it out.
On the up side, everything was aesthetically pleasing. And the menu does have a lot of variety with desserts.
Overall, Tsujiri did not come close to meeting the high expectations I had. It's not necessarily bad, but I no longer understand why anyone would go out of their way to try this place. I most certainly would not wait in line to buy anything from here again. Perhaps if I were to pass by during the rare times where there is no line, I may go back inside just to finally get that sundae I've been waiting for.
