  • This is definitely one of the more romantic restaurants on the Strip. I took my GF to dinner here shortly after we first met and asked for one of the tables by the window, which offered us stunning 180-degree views of the Bellagio fountains that made us both swoon. The restaurant is located in the Paris Hotel's scaled down Eiffel Tower of course and is serviced by a single elevator, which sort of adds some fun and a sense of exclusivity to your evening. The dining room is intimate, with both booths and floating tables scattered around. Everything is about the views here, so almost every table has a least a peek of the fountains. However, there is this odd waiter's station in one corner that I was seated by when I treated my family to dinner on another visit that completely blocked our table's view, which was a bit of a let down. Steer away from that area if possible. The cuisine here is French of course, and while it is certainly well prepared, nothing really ever stands out for me. This is usually the case with themed or view restaurants; They live in their own niche and therefore don't really have to compete with others in their category. Thus, in terms of food there are certainly more impressive restaurants in the area, but they don't have these views. Note that I'm not knocking the food here; Just don't expect it to be an epic Michelin 3 diamond experience and you'll be fine. The service has been top notch each and every time I've eaten here, although the kitchen is a little less accommodating. Last visit my old-school father wanted a baked potato with his entree, but the chef flatly refused the request (even though there were obviously potatoes in the house). My parental unit was about to do the diner scene from Five Easy Pieces on them, but the waiter was very professional and calmed him down, talking him into another one of the sides on the menu, thank God. Reservations are an absolute must and sometimes they'll ask for a credit card and bill you a non-refundable fee ($50, if memory serves, which is applied to your check) to place it. I've noticed a few other places do this as well; I guess it stops people from scatter bombing reservations at a bunch of places for the same evening and then cancelling last minute once they make their choice. If you just want to come up and take a peek, they do have a bar, but it's been totally packed every time I've been here. I don't know if they do the velvet rope thing or not to limit the crowds, but expect to wait for a bar seat if you decide to make the trip. Long and short: A four star French restaurant with five star views. Definitely one of those places you must try at least once. Perfect for a special night out, a proposal, or an anniversary. Highly recommended. Bon Appétit!
