| - It's a shame when you leave a restaurant liking it less than when you entered. We'd been there before, & were looking forward to a delicious meal. The food was very good, but our service was poor & detracted from the meal. The hostess did not greet us, make eye contact, or even smile. We gave her our name - we had a reservation - & all she gave us was an indifferent "follow me, please." We were seated & we waited. And waited. It wasn't busy, & there seemed to be plenty of people working. Just as we began to consider going elsewhere, our waiter, Patrick, who had passed us several times without pausing, finally came to our table. My date remarked that we were glad to see him. He said, "yes, I actually exist." He was not well trained. Our drinks were wrong (we both ordered the house Manhattan), & he served our small plates with no serving pieces. It was hard to get water. Rather than clearing my place after we'd eaten the first course, he plopped my main course on the edge of the table. That was it for me: inadequate & sloppy service. We spent over $125 on dinner that night. Again, the food was very good, but I expect some graciousness to go along with an upscale meal. Please, Customshop, invest some time holding your front of house staff to a standard on par with your food.
