After all the great reviews I decided I must give this place a try. I went on a Friday afternoon with my parents for a bite to eat. I always dread going uptown because I am not quite familiar with the parking there yet. Luckily it wasn't to busy at the time so we were able to find a spot at a meter up front.
First thought was wow this place is tiny. The ambience is casual and the staff there are really friendly.
My favorite part the food. They bring out individual cornbread loaf's with a honey butter after you place your order. I must say it was great I ate mines and half of my mother's. I honestly would go just for the cornbread. Then we got the rest of our meals I ordered a chicken wing plate with red beans and rice with gravey. The chicken was flavorless tasted like flour. The WORST fried chicken ever. I expected so much more I mean I had to pour hot sauce all over just to eat it. The beans and rice were not much better. My dad ordered the special of fried turkey with stuffing gravy with mac and cheese and yams on the side. He did not enjoy his either and he is alot easier to please than I am. My mom had a fried shrimp po' boy with mac and cheese. She said she liked the mac and cheese it had a sweet taste to it.
Dessert we split a slice of German Chocolate cake. It was pretty good. They have a wonderful array of desserts to try.
