I've been here 3 times and every single time we've gotten the luau pork plate. That is fantastic. I don't know what they do to that pork but it has a delicious flavor and is so tender. Mixing it all up with the brown rice and mac salad is a perfect lunch.
On my last visit I tried the volcano-blackened mahi with vegetables instead of rice. That was a great meal as well. The fish was so nice and light. The meal came with a fresh dinner salad too and I thought it was one of the better deals on the menu for the amount of quality food I got.
We've also tried the shrimp and chicken bowl with light honey orange sauce and brown rice, the kahuna burger with rumbi fries, and the tempura shrimp app. The shrimp and chicken bowl was tasty and a healthier option. The kahuna burger was the only big disappointment. That burger had no flavor whatsoever other than a hint of pineapple. The fries, however, were delicious and I like the dipping sauce that comes with them. The tempura shrimp app was good, but such a tiny portion for the cost I would not get it again. If I'm craving cheap tempura I'll go to a Yogis Grill.
The staff has always been friendly and patient when we've had questions about the menu, and the atmosphere is very pleasant with Margaritaville-type music playing. We always look forward to a visit to Rumbi.
