When you first hear the pricies of how much a pie is at the Pie Shack, my immediate thought was - "Wow that's crazy talk!" because I make pies. But Tim and his team are so passionate and create such a great ambiance you just *want* to buy pie from him.
So you buy the pie.
Take home the pie.
Then fall in love with the pie.
I love their freakin pie.
Damn its good pie. I had the bumble berry and took it home for a dinner party and heated it up with ice cream for dessert. It was an instant hit, and the left overs didn't see the morning because I had one of those late night craving things and had to eat the rest of it out of the tin standing shamefully by the counter. Hey, at least that time I used a fork. Their pies are worth every penny.
A second visit to meet friends was an afternoon well spent. The Pie Shack decor feels so relaxed with white-washed aged wood, and surrounded by ancient board games and worn out travel books about exotic sea-side locations.
All the products are fresh and very tasty. Next time I'm about to get one of those boring La Rocha or Dufflets creations to take home I'm definitely getting a Pie Shack Pie instead.
