| - I wanted a sandwich. Something not Subway. Not greasy. Different. Almost turned into a mainstay, Roma Siena, then saw a tiny sign saying "Dakao Sandwiches" and pulled in. Found a parking spot on the first try. Looked the place up on Yelp & saw it had 4 stars, so I figured I'd go in. Nothing special, just as others have described - men playing some sort of board game, a long refrigerated counter with unknown foods in it, a guy behind the cash register. Ordered the #1 (banh mi) and was told that it's a minimum of $8 for my credit/debit card. Ordered the #9 (veggie) as well. Next time, I'll bring cash. As I was leaving, one of the board game guys said in perfect English, "see you tomorrow" which I thought was kinda cute. Got back to my office and sat down to 1/2 of the veggie first. Filled with chewy mushrooms, this is a savory sandwich. I like it although I was craving something... different. Then I bit into 1/2 of the banh mi. It was everything my mouth desired. A thin crunch on the bread; a mix of meats unlike turkey or roast beef; interesting veggies and a good amount of my favorite, fresh cilantro. Great flavor and satisfied my craving! Maybe I won't be back tomorrow, but I will definitely be back soon!
