  • Came here for the soft (serve) opening! I've been to a few Mechie's locations down south and have always been a fan since my first visit. This Shadyside location, right on Centre Ave is small, but mighty. The staff was super nice and friendly. All of the toppings were fully stocked and nicely kept and not a hot mess. Unlimited free samples help you decide on the best flavor combo to suit your needs! They have your regular flavors: chocolate, vanilla, etc. but they also had peanut butter, DOLE WHIP, cake batter, and more! Seriously every topping you could think of is here! Many sauces and fresh whipped cream can finish off your creation. My husband and I got two cups with toppings and our total was around $7...not too bad--compares to the other froyo places around, but Menchies has the service and cleanliness factor that the others lack! 10/10!!
