  • I would rate the cigar itself a 5-star, and the only reason this is a 4-star review is because my experience is is very limited and I have tried just one cigar. I spoke with son #1 and acquainted him with my "flavour profile" which is Montecristo Edmundo and Partagas Mille Fleur. I didn't mention Cohiba Behike 56 except in passing because I didn't want a pricey recommendation. He recommended a couple which I further refined by size, and picked the $8 one. At this time I had run out of cigars as I am pretty much done with being an aficionado. I left this lone one in my otherwise empty humidor for a few days, still in the plastic bag, on lower than recommended humidity. When I smoked it, Wow! It tasted like a well-kept expensive Cuban cigar and tasted fresh, though I have never tasted a fresh cigar so I have nothing to compare to. I seriously expected something like a Gurkha, smoky and lacking flavour, but this one burned so well, with just the right amount of smoke, medium body, good flavour, a reasonable draw and tasted expensive. I would never have known it was local and that price. It was well-rolled except at the last inch and a half it kind of started flaking in my mouth. I'm definitely going to be a repeat customer and no more $20+ cigars for me, let alone the $80+ ones. I'm going to only be buying local unless I travel and bring some back. It made me rethink what a cigar is and should be. Oh, the story about them having made Wolverine's cigar for the first X-Men movie is both impressive and makes a good conversation topic, I will definitely be telling that story!
