  • Dr. Angela Miller at the Alamo Medical Clinic has been my primary care physician for quite a number of years now and I keep asking myself --- why? My personal nickname for her is "Glamour Girl," as she is always dressed to the nines. I suppose there is nothing wrong with that, though. My biggest issue with her, however, is she always seems to have one foot going out the door before she even comes in. The wait in the lobby is usually 30 minutes, then you get called by the nurse to a room in the back and wait another 30 minutes. When she finally comes in, she barely spends 5 minutes with you. And don't even think about asking her questions. Since she has prescribed various medications for me, her nurses draw blood during each visit. But when I ask about the test results on the following appointment, you can almost see the roll of the eyes, the click of the tongue and a heavy sigh. Far be it for me to find out what's going on with my body. The answer is typically that if there's something negative that shows up in the test results they'll let me know, otherwise they don't volunteer the information. In agreement with the other reviews here, Dr. Miller does seem to go overboard on ordering tests. But on the other hand I am told that is the sign of a good doctor to make sure you're okay. Could it be about the money? I don't want the hassle of finding a different doctor, but each time I leave her office I keep saying I should because of my frustrations with her. I will say that when things have gone wrong, she gets them resolved or out-sources me to another physician. I'm used to her, but I think there is probably a better doctor out there for me. 08/09/16 update: Not sure if it is because of the policy of Alamo Medical Clinic, Obamacare or my insurance, but they no longer draw blood here. I am now forced to go to Quest and pay a separate fee (currently $85 each visit). I understand Dr. Miller's concerns, but I just cannot afford this every 3 months - which is how often she requests I be seen.
