I thought long and hard before writing this review- I want to start off with the positive- the atmosphere was great- it kinda feels like a hidden little cool spot tucked out of view a bit. The inside doesn't disappoint either. The bar is set right next to a large out door area and gives off a very cool vibe. The chalk boards everywhere are a nice touch and the wine closet is cool to look at. The staff seem to be happy to work there and super friendly and helpful. The restaurant is also well kept up and very clean. So why three stars??? The food, it was just so average. I really expected to be wowed walking in there and I just was not. I had chicken and waffles it was served with bacon and scrambled eggs. The eggs were over done and not salted at all, the chicken was properly breaded in some areas but not in others. It also could really be brought to life with some seasoning. It however was not dried out. The bacon was good. The waffles were cute but not yummy, they were a bit chewy and had no crisp at all. They were labeled as malt waffles but that flavor did not come across- if the syrup was flavored and served warm that would be a huge kick up for this dish. The portion was generous and you would not leave the table hungry. I see a ton of potential for this place - and if I ever hear that they revamp the menu and really go for flavor I would test them out again. I hope they do!!!
