I came to Rao's with my Husband and two guys from his work because they were in town on business. We had seen Rao's on TV years ago on the Food Network, so of course we made a point to stop by when we were in Las Vegas.
I was able to make reservations for 7:00pm on a Friday earlier that same day and they had plenty of reservation spots available. There was also no wait when we arrived, so it's easy to get into. Exactly the opposite of the New York location!
They started with the Fritto Misto which was supposed to be a mix of three different kinds of seafood, but ended up to be mostly calamari. I had a cup of their made in house Tomato Soup with was great and came with fried cheese which was a nice tasty touch.
They had two different vegetarian pastas for entrees, so I had the Ricotta and Pear Purses in the Brown Butter Sauce. They were great! I loved the pears with the cheese, and the pasta was cooked perfectly. They make them in house, and you can tell.
My Husband had the Veal Piccata which was HUGE and my Husband really liked it. He had never had it before, but thought it had great flavor. It was such a large portion that he couldn't even finish it which is hard to do!
Service was great and attentive, and we decided that we would come back again. It wasn't my favorite Italian restaurant, but I'm glad we went.
