  • I been using Yelp for a few years, but I never felt a need to make an account to write reviews. After my experience at Vanity Nails... I felt compelled to make one to share my experience. It was awful! (On more than one occasion, but this took it to another level.) I been coming here on and off for about three years. The women that work in the salon do amazing good work, but I haven't had the best of luck with the guys that have done my nails here. They have often done sloppy work on me, and when I go in a hour before closing, they always take me, but there is always negative energy. They get annoyed having to stay late. If that is the case, they should not take me at all. Also, I understand Vietnamese a little, and they are always judging other people in the salon. Tonight I spent $60.00 for a fill and gel on top, and I'm so unhappy with the shape of my nails. It's not what I asked for at all. When I was trying to explain to the nail technician what I wanted, he kept being rude and acting like he didn't understand me. He was very angry and short with me. He didn't care about what I wanted at all. I showed him my current nails and a picture. I told him right when I sat down that I wanted the same exact shape I had on my nails. He argued with me about the difference between almond and stiletto nails. I told him that I wanted something in between, but not a sharp and pointed tip. Well, he gave me a sharp pointed tip! arghhh He was rushing me to pick a color. I told him I was considering maybe this one color, but he wasn't even listening. He just grabbed the color sample away from me, and got the bottle of the color I told him I might want to do. When I asked him to see the nail swatches again because I wasn't sure I wanted that color, I was only considering the color he brought over.... He got mad about getting it and bringing it back. Then he argued with me about the difference between fading and ombre. I showed him a picture of what I wanted, and he still was trying to argue and question me what I wanted. Also, I chose a glitter with large and small glitters in it, and he tried to put a color that had only small glitters in it, and when I told him that I choose a color that had both small and big glitter, and the one he was putting on only has small glitter in it...He insisted that it was the color number I chose, and it wasn't his fault that there was only small glitters in it being that it was near the end of the bottle. If I was him, I would have ask me to choose another glitter polish since that bottle clearly wasn't delivering what I thought I was getting from the nail swatch. Maybe he was having a bad day. He definitely had a bad attitude. His co-worker had to do this part of the manicure, and she did good by offering me a glitter with large and small glitter like I wanted, and she had a better attitude, but the two other guys were extremely rude. When I left, my nails looked okay. Not great. This is totally not what I wanted, but it was fine for now, since I was tired, and I just wanted to leave after putting up with the terrible customer service (not by the girl though). Still I left an undeserving $12.00 tip on $48.00. I really didn't want to give anything considering the horrible service from him, but I was grateful that they stayed about 20 minutes after closing to finish my nails, so I tipped him well anyway. I'm upset at myself for leaving such a generous tip on such crappy service. I was extremely dissatisfied, but I still thanked them graciously while walking out the door, and both guys didn't say a word, no thank you or goodbye, and the both men gave me stone cold faces, while the girl was polite and said bye. I have had great work from the women in this nail place. I recommend sticking with the women.
