| - Just over a year after the first review, I find myself here again. This time, the goal was to create a meal out of two individual items that would, when consumed a la carte be considered a snack. I zeroed in on a small cherry walnut salad ($7) and a fish taco ($7). An expensive snack/meal to be sure, and I was left with mixed results. The salad is reliably satisfying creation that has a distinct composite envelope of flavor and texture. The mixed greens, parmesan, dried cherries and vinaigrette dressing were pleasing enough, though nothing about it beckoned for a return visit anytime soon. The fish taco was an entirely different and much more disappointing experience. While the idea of fish tacos is nothing new, and even the inclusion of tilapia is now a fairly standard option, the unpleasant surprise here was the extra step of infusing a hickory-smoked flavoring on the fish, with only a small bed of cilantro for contrast. The resulting taste made me wonder if this menu item had been rescued from a recent structure fire, as the smoke aura was so monochromatic as to eliminate all other dimensions of flavor. Perhaps a small dab of chipotle salsa as an additional accessory may have rescued this victim, but in it's current form, no such luck. Incidentally, the entrees were a limited and expensive situation. I believe it would be to the kitchen's advantage to consider a more seasonal menu, taking advantage of local seasonal produce, rather than a continuous merry-go-round of the same views.
